Are you ready to present?
Bitnorth is an informal, eclectic gathering North of Montréal. The rules are simple: if you attend, you have to present. Subjects range from the technical to the sublime, from art to warfare, from the carbon footprint of beer, to the musical instruments lurking in an iPhone. It's as if TED, Foocamp, and Ignite had a baby, and that baby lived in the woods.
Bitnorth 2010 will explore the idea of Human 2.0. Humans and machines are merging as never before, through augmented reality, social networks, digital
government, and a life lived through our iPhones and Androids. While
this means a torrent of exciting technologies, it also raises serious
ethical questions. Can we expect any privacy in the future? How should
government change? Will prosthetic memory make our minds atrophy? Is
the digital divide turning into an uncrossable chasm between the
connected and the organic?
